Still Life Paintings
For me, still life painting is a lot like life drawing. It’s a darned good exercise.
But it’s also wonderfully rewarding.
Gazing has become a rare life pleasure, as today I far more often find myself quickly eating a plate of vegetables than taking the time to gaze at them. Rather than gazing at flowers, I find myself only glancing.
The exercise of still life painting never fails to bring back into my life the art of gazing.
